INCARGNITO

InCargnito is a car-based stealth game

(Solo project | Unreal engine)

Synopsis:

InCargnito is a stealth game based in a racing environment. The player controls a car and must race through the level, without being detected by the obstructing enemies. The player can take different approaches to finish the level.

DISRUPTIVE GAME DESIGN APPROACH FOR ENGAGING AND IMMERSIVE GAMEPLAY

Traditional game design conventions focus on satisfying the player’s expectations. While they work, they also have certain limitations. The player learns patterns from playing repetitive games with a similar design and anticipates how every scenario would operate. This would make them feel repetitive, mundane and result in a weaker sense of immersion. The player might exploit certain aspects to cheat if the game behaves to their expectations.In this proposal, we discuss a disruptive approach to game design that tries to create an immersive and engaging gameplay. It is important to do so without causing the player frustration or boredom. The focus of the study is to research gaming titles that successfully implement a disruptive game design.

RELIC

Relic is a Metroidvania style first person shooter about finding an artifact on an alien planet

Relic was a five member team university project, following is the brief summary of my contributions

Responsibilities and Processes

  • As the lead level designer, created and implemented the entire level layout

  • After discussing a rough narrative, I collected reference material and created top

       down maps, pivotal structure sketches and color pallets accordingly

  • Next phase was to block in and create a rough layout for playtesting

  • Based on the playtesting, obvious design flaws were corrected and the level molded

       to support the mechanics interactions

  • After finalizing on the base game,  assets were created in Maya

JOURNEY HOME - A TOYS TALE

A horde mode first person shooter set in a tree house wherein you have to take down other jealous toys,

as a toy

Journey Home - A Toys Tale was a five-member team university project, following is the brief summary of my contributions

Responsibilities and Processes

  • As an Environment artist, created and implemented various environmental 3D assets

  • Based on the setting, research was conducted to find a suitable art style

  • After finalizing on the base game,  assets were created in Blender

  • Performed bug fixing and created a working built as a revision of the project

 

BUSINESS PLAN FOR A CRYPTOCURRENCY BASED  WEB/MOBILE GAME

This project is a business plan to successfully start and run a new game development company. The plan contains the projections and decisions to run the company for three years. The first game to be produced is a cryptocurrency based web/mobile game that takes the trend and capitalizes on it to create an engaging, educational and addictive experience that the target audience can enjoy in short bursts. The Research data gives insights into player engagement by understanding the players needs and motivations.
